Fine Motor Fun — Turkey Crafts for Little Hands
Thanksgiving crafts are more than cute keepsakes — they’re powerful tools for building fine motor strength, hand-eye coordination, and pre-writing skills.
Try This at Home:
Try simple craft projects that involve cutting, coloring, gluing, and tracing. These actions help prepare hands for holding a pencil and forming letters.
Some fun ideas:
- Handprint Turkeys: Trace your child’s hand and let them decorate each “feather.”
- Feather Names: Write one letter of your child’s name on each paper feather and have them glue the feathers to a paper turkey.
- Tearing Paper Feathers: Instead of scissors, let them tear strips of paper — great for finger strength!
