Ready for Kinder

Helping Parents Help Little Learners

The person behind the idea.

Hi, I’m so glad you’re here!
I’m the creator behind Ready for Kinder, a space designed to support parents who want to give their children the best possible start in school. With over 40 years of experience as a certified elementary teacher, I’ve had the privilege of working with students from kindergarten all the way through twelfth grade. I’ve also written curriculum guides used in classrooms across grade levels—and perhaps most relevant to this site, I’ve conducted kindergarten entrance testing for many years.
Over time, I’ve come to understand what truly helps young children feel confident and capable when they walk through the doors of kindergarten. I’ve seen firsthand how the right mix of learning, encouragement, and play can make a world of difference—not just for children, but for the families who love and support them.
This website is a place where I share that knowledge with you. Whether you’re wondering what skills your child needs before kindergarten, looking for fun and educational printables, or just trying to feel more confident in how you support your little learner, you’re in the right place.
Let’s get your child ready—not just for school, but for a joyful beginning to a lifetime of learning.
