🗣️ Thanksgiving Table Talk — Building Social and Conversation Skills
Family gatherings are excellent opportunities for little learners to practice conversation and social skills. With a bit of planning, your Thanksgiving table can also serve as a learning space.
Young children need practice listening, taking turns, and expressing ideas — all part of kindergarten readiness. Create a few Table Talk Cards with fun, age-appropriate questions such as:
- “What’s your favorite Thanksgiving food?”
- “What do you like to do with your family?”
- “What’s something kind you can do for someone today?”
Place them in a jar or basket and let kids take turns picking a card. It keeps conversation going and helps even shy talkers join in.
Try This at Home:
🦃 Make Mini Table Talk Cards
Cut out paper leaves or turkey feathers and write one question on each. Decorate together and scatter them around the table.
