Holiday crafts naturally strengthen the small hand muscles kids need for writing, cutting, and buttoning. Choose crafts with simple actions—snipping paper, peeling stickers, squeezing glue drops, or threading beads. A few minutes of hands-on creating each day gives your child steady, meaningful practice.
Optional activity idea: Make a paper-chain countdown. Have your child cut one strip each day and link them together.
Try This at Home
Set out a quick “Christmas Craft Tray” with paper scraps, crayons, stickers, and a glue stick. Invite your child to make anything festive. This open-ended setup builds creativity AND all those readiness essentials without any prep.
