Hello!
Fall gives us so many natural opportunities to help preschoolers learn—and sometimes the best ones happen when we simply slow down and pay attention together.

Kindergarten Quick Tip
This week, help your child practice noticing change over time.
Preschoolers tend to focus on what’s happening right now, so noticing how something changes from one day to the next builds observation, memory, and early scientific thinking.
Choose one thing you see regularly this fall—a tree outside your window, the amount of daylight at dinnertime, what people are wearing when you leave the house, or even the temperature when you step outside.
Every few days, casually ask: “Is anything different today?”
You don’t need to explain the science behind every change. Give your child time to look, think, and tell you what they notice.
Try This at Home
Choose one tree that your child can easily see near your home, on your regular drive, or somewhere you visit often. Call it “our fall tree.”
Once or twice this week, take a good look at it together. Ask: “What do you notice today?” Later in the week, look again. “Does our tree look the same or different?” That’s it!
No chart to complete. No leaf collection required. You’re simply helping your child discover that the world doesn’t stay exactly the same—and encouraging them to notice those changes.
Encouraging Reminder
You don’t have to create a lesson out of every experience—sometimes noticing something together is enough.
